Inconel 800 Socket Weld Fittings Applications
Alloy 800 forged Socket Welding (SW) fittings are mainly used to permanently join pipes that are inserted into a recess in the fitting, flange, or valve. Once correctly inserted, fillet-type sealing welds are applied to join the pipe to the fitting. It is commonly known as SW pipe fittings, with SW elbows, SW couplings, and SW tees being examples of different types. Incoloy Grade 800 Socket weld fittings have high leakage integrity and structural strength and can be used to change the direction of travel for pipe networks as well as join pipes at different angles and of different diameters.
Alloy 800, 800HT, and 800H are nickel-iron-chromium alloys with good strength and excellent resistance to carburization and oxidation in high-temperature exposure. These nickel steel alloys are identical except for the higher level of carbon in alloy 800H/HT and the addition of up to 1.20 percent aluminium and titanium in alloy 800HT. Alloy 800 was the first of these alloys and it was slightly modified into Alloy 800H. This modification was to control carbon (.05-.10%) and grain size to optimize stress rupture properties.
