Duplex S32205 Threaded Fittings Applications

Duplex S32205 forged threaded fittings are mainly used for joining piping systems for small pipe diameters (Small Bore Piping); it is one of the oldest methods generally for pipes where the nominal diameter is NPS 2 or smaller. Grade 2205 Threaded piping is commonly used in low-cost, noncritical applications such as fire protection, domestic water, and industrial cooling water systems. UNS S32205 Threaded Tee is used at places where welding is not permitted as they do not require welding.
Duplex 2205 stainless steel (both ferritic and austenitic) is used extensively in applications that require good corrosion resistance and strength. This grade of stainless steel is not suitable for use at temperatures above 300°C and at temperatures below -50°C.
